  • Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU-11), Detachment Fallon, detonates a wall of fire during the Naval Air Facility El Centro Air Show prior to the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, performance. The show was the Blue Angels' first air show of 2014. The team is scheduled to perform more than 70 flight demonstrations at 35 cities this show season.   • The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) transits the Philippine Sea while conducting a bilateral exercise with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is operating as part of U.S. 7th Fleet, but remains deployed under the U.S. 3rd Fleet Forward operating concept, which provides additional options to the Pacific Fleet commander and leverages the capabilities of both 3rd and 7th Fleets.   • The Ohio-class guided-missile submarine USS Michigan (SSGN 727) arrives in Busan for a scheduled port visit while conducting routine patrols throughout the western Pacific. Michigan is the second submarine of the Ohio-class of ballistic missile and guided missile submarines, and the third U.S. ship to bear the name.
